• Cancers of the bile ducts, gallbladder and liver are also called hepatobiliary cancers. 

• These cancers can start in liver cells (hepatocellular carcinoma); bile duct cells (cholangiocarcinoma) or cells inside the gallbladder (gallbladder cancer).  Each of these cancers is unique and requires different approaches to diagnosis and treatment.

• Liver cancers are uncommon, and it can be complicated to understand all the treatment options for liver cancer, gallbladder cancer, and bile duct cancer.
